Packing it all in

Jessica leaves today to go back to school. The semester starts on Monday.  We have really enjoyed having her around.  She is great company and the boys love her.  She is a great big sis.  Over the last few days we have been trying to do things that we won’t get to see or do unless we come back and visit.  On New Year’s Day, we went to the movies and saw Bedtime Stories.  We all enjoyed it.  Then we headed to downtown DC. While Bill took the boys to the Natural History Museum,  Jessica and I went to the Holocaust Museum. This is a museum that we have both been wanting to go to.  It is hard to describe the emotions that I felt.  I know that I learned more and all of the books that I have read on the subject became more vivid.  We found a name, Dynow, on a glass panel that was listed with towns or communities that were partially or completely lost due to the “final solution’.  I want to do more research on this.  The town was in Poland which is where I understand the Dunow side came from.  On Friday, we went to Baltimore and the National Aquarium.  It was fun to see Billy so excited about seeing the fish.  He is excited about fish because we told him that when we move to New Mexico he can get some fish.  He already has some names picked out.  We saw the dolphin show which is always fun.  Then we had dinner and headed home.  It was late, but Jessica and I found the time to watch Foul Play with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase.  It’s one of my favorite movies.  Over the last two weeks, we also went to see the lights at the Temple and we just had a good time being together watching movies and playing games.   It seems like she just got here.  We look forward to living closer so that we can see her more often then just once or twice a year.

  1. It is always so hard when your visitor leaves. Sounds like you all got to see some great things and that is good. I would like to see the Holocaust Museum. Wow, finding that name so simular to yours is really something. That was such a terrible thing to happen.

  2. I’m jealous that you went to the National Aquarium…that was on our list but we never did make it. Sounds like a great Christmas Break!
