An enchanting update

We are here! We have made it to the land of enchantment.  We started out on June 17 (which seems so long ago) and stopped in Pennsylvania to see some great friends.  We had a great time. Billy especially loved that their son had an X-Box. He ran into the living room and said, “Mommy, I am going to play with the big boy who has an X-Box.”  He didn’t want to leave the next morning.  We headed to Dayton, Ohio for our pit stop.  The next day before heading to St. Louis, we went to the Air Force Museum.  I am so glad we made the detour.  We got to see the helicopter my dad flew in during the Vietnam War.  I had only seen a black and white picture and this was the real deal.  After the museum, we headed for St. Louis and spent the weekend with friends.  I felt horrible on Sunday and slept most of the day. Then on Monday, we were ready to go and head for Oklahoma.  I don’t know what it is about Oklahoma, but once I crossed the state line and saw the huge sign welcoming us to Oklahoma, I felt great.  We spent the week with my parents. We went to the Wichita Wildlife Refuge and just hung out.  It was really hot, but cherry limeade slushes from Sonic helped.  Then yesterday, we made our way to New Mexico.  We are happy to finally be here.  We saw the house we are renting and it is pretty nice.  I am looking forward to getting settled. Living like a nomad has been fun at times, but it is starting to wear us down.  The boys have been real troopers, but I know they will be glad to get settled, too.  We will keep you updated plus I will post pictures of our different adventures along the way.  We appreciate all of the prayers and good thoughts that have been coming our way.

  1. I always love the first few weeks after moving. Even though you have all the settleing in to do, there are no outside pressures. No visiting teaching, no callings, no PTA, no nothing except you and your family!

Glad you made it safe and sound!

  2. So happy to hear that you made it! I am having difficulty realizing that your family is actually gone though. I keep thinking that I am seeing you on Sunday, like a ghost out of the corner of my eye!
